Started Training for Street Luge Competition

So I got in touch with Justin Tolman of www.street-luge.com and met he and Ronnie of the Toxic Brothers, as well as my instructor, Rick Wilson of No Fuel Racing. We did 5 runs in Southern Cal with much success and some cool footage.

Went back for my second day of training with I believe it was 9 runs. Had a frozen bearing which was quickly remedied with uber-secret special bearings made by Rick Wilson. Made a lot of progres, no spills and got some good bump drafts which increased my speed. Did a lot of draft lines. I gave Rick my shoes so he could apply a tire sole for better breaking. The Converse seem to be working out,

Perrine Bridge Trip Was Great!

Had yet another great trip to the Perrine bridge in Twin Falls, Idaho. We were getting current for Switzerland n 3 weeks. If you haven't been to Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland, it is like Disneyland for BASE jumpers. Need a place to stay, the hotel above the Horner Pub is inexpensive and sits atop the pub where the jumpers meet in the valley. There are three main exit points: 2 on one side, Yellow Ocean at 1450 ft (a good start), and La Mousse, and the High Nose on the opposite side of the valley. There are trains, trams, Rosti, and good times.

Highlights of this bridge trip were too numerous too count. I have never had a better time with friends. It was me, my boyfriend Barry Holubeck, The Adventurist and Everest speed ascent record holder Joby Ogwyn, and Will Kitto. We saw a few people from home out there as well. I can't even begin to explain what afabulous time it was. I did 13 jumps, and did a side floating exit for the first time that tweaked my right inner thigh. Not-so-good-moments? Windholds and I stalled my new canopy a few feet above landing and hit my tailbone. Yay.

When most people think of Switzerland, chocolates, watches, & tennis champ Roger Federer come to mind. When I look back on Switzerland, I think about jumping out of a plane, repelling off rocks, & staring out at the colossal, snow-peaked Swiss Alps. My time in Interlaken, Switzerland was inspiring, life-changing, and full of some of the greatest adventures of my life.

When I first arrived in Interlaken, with strangers I had met on the train, by a tremendous stroke of luck there was a town festival going on that very night, so the whole town was ‘out and about’ and there were fireworks going off, as if it was our own personal “welcome wagon”. We were all staying at the famous Balmer’s Hostel (definitely Top 5 best hostels in all of Europe) where the party had already begun and we were all too ready to join in. Every walk of life, every nationality, every free-spirit can be found at this place. You make best friends with someone in a day and forget them tomorrow.
